International Service exemplifies the Global Reach of Rotary International in promoting peace & understanding around the world.  Rotary volunteers work to expand the Rotarians humanitarian work around the world.  This important service includes Rotary Club sponsorship of projects in other countries and works with international partners to support projects in their communities. 

International Service also offers Rotarians an opportunity for international fellowship with an important difference– humanitarianism.

There is no one-way to carry out an International Service project. When it comes to implementing a project, creativity and imagination are the keys to success. Projects may be as diverse as the construction of a public restroom facility where none were available prior to building an aquaponics system at a school in the jungles of Guatemala or providing water wells in remote areas of Uganda that serve 15,000 inhabitants.

Rotary International encourages Rotary clubs to develop projects that address priority needs identified by the communities they serve, to help people help themselves, and to ensure projects are environmentally sustainable.
